The Scotch company has been making tapes for as long as your grandparents can remember. Does Scotch Double-Sided Tape Work on Fabric? Not only that, but this tape can also be written on when you need to make any sewing notations. Plus, it is not hard to cut this tape to the size you need. Just because the tape can be removed or repositioned easily does not mean it is weak. One good thing about this version of fabric tape is that you are not losing any holding power. There may be other brands making the same thing, but Scotch will be the name you will remember. The granddaddy of tape brands, Scotch, has made a removable fabric tape. There are some very good washable fabric tapes out there just be careful not to pick up the cheaper version. Which brand is the best is anyone’s guess. You use it until you can make a permanent repair like sewing difficult stitches. the latter is made to be washed off as its purpose is not for a permanent fix. The key is not to confuse permanent fabric tape with temporary fabric tape. Amazon has a large selection of this version and finding it should not be very difficult. Those would be called permanent fabric tape. I think it might not be enough adhesive in the layer for it to keep the cardstock stuck together well-enough but I bought some to test out on some of the scraps from the tuckboxes.Some versions of fabric tape are washable. It advertises itself as being good for poster board, mounting photos, and some other things. I just bought one from Scotch it’s like a whiteout-roller dispenser that dispenses a strip of adhesive. Wouldn’t a strip of tape be too wide for the majority of tuckboxes though?Īny other tips for assembling tuckboxes are appreciated too though.ĮDIT: I just discovered that there are products called adhesive rollers that exist as well. I can’t say I’ve used double-sided tape for anything ever it seems like too fancy a product for me to have had access to it growing up. I always assumed glue would be the way to go but I’ve seen more comments recently from people saying they have used double-sided tape. What is the consensus on ways to affix panels to each other though, between glue and double-sided tape? I’ve seen some tips about using an empty inkpen or a dull instrument of some sort in conjunction with a metal ruler to score the folds on the back of a page before starting the creases. I’ve got some pages of tuckboxes that I’ll be picking up today and assembling.
